Moorea, Tahiti | Few days in paradise

I have never seen anything like Tahiti - wonderful people, nature, peace and order. I might have not seen an entire world, but I'm convinced there is no place like French Polynesia.

Getting there was the longest flight I ever took. (and I didn't take all of it as we only boarded in New York's JFK Airport) Some French people go all the way from Europe, stop in New York (where we took off from), then a stop on the West Coast and then another couple hours to Papeete, Tahiti. Than from Papeete - a short ferry trip to Moorea and a quick cab right to the hotel. Uff...

Tahiti is one of the places where you do not need to come up with the schedule of travels/activities. One day similar to another, yet every day you fall more in love with the surrounding you paradise of French Polynesia.

Since it got dark pretty early (early August around 8 pm) it's easy to go to sleep early. We used to do that after enjoying an unique and scrumptious dinner in one of the local French flavored restaurants. We also used to start the day early, not to waste any daylight to enjoy abundant beauty of Moorea.

Vanilla Plantation in Moorea

I am not sure what was more stunning- the view of the bay we stayed in (amazingly green waters and lush volcanic mountains) or translucent and turquoise waters of the Pacific and its white sand beaches.

There were definitely more locals on the beaches than tourist, but the beaches were still almost empty. Thanks to that it was easy to have privacy.

An interesting phenomenon that might be worth mentioning is that being topless on the beach is a regular thing in Tahiti and Moorea. It seems to be part of the culture :)

You can observe and learn about Polynesian culture and people on every corner. French Polynesia does not seem to be spoiled by anything that you want to run away from coming from any big, noisy and overdeveloped place of the world. In Tahiti you do not have to try to forget about stress, your ambitions, and every day life problems, it just happens to you! All you can think of is how lucky you are to be there.

Perhaps because those islands are so idyllic and peaceful it is easy to make a big life decision and get engaged. That is what we did and in my opinion Tahiti is a perfect place for this type of event. This paradise on Earth just makes everything special and magical and makes your ring absolutely priceless!!!

Cook's Bay, Moorea

The best way to explore Tahiti and Moorea is to rent a scooter (or a car). We chose a scooter and we had a lot of fun riding it all over the island. We took an extraordinary trip to a local vanilla plantation where we have certainly seen something we have never seen before. Because it was located on high elevation we not only saw tropical plants, but we got to admire the breath taking view of the Cook Bay. Sensational!!!

Interesting Place
goodness, everything is beautiful - no dirty beaches, amazing french flavored food, scenery and hiking like you wouldn't believe
Accomodation
Club Bali Hai. Not the fanciest of the Moorea's places to stay, but very clean. Located in the Cook's Bay it offers awesome mountain views and snorkling.
